Data Deletion
You control your information. Here’s exactly what each way of deleting it does. Before deleting your account, you can download everything we hold about you: Settings → Your data.
Delete part of your profile
Rejecting an item in your Career Profile keeps it out of everything ResumePay writes for you, and keeps it in your profile’s history so you can undo it. Deleting a resume removes it with all its branches, versions, and exported files. Your Career Profile and evidence stay as they are.
Delete a job or an application
Deleting a target job removes it with its requirements and analysis. Deleting an application removes it with its notes, dates, and history.
Delete all your career data
In Settings, “Delete all career data” permanently deletes your Career Profile and everything built from it: every employment, project, skill, achievement, education, and certification with its facts and evidence, your uploaded files (from file storage too), your resumes with every version and exported file, cover letters, and interview preparation. Your account, settings, points and their history, target jobs, and applications stay, so you can start your profile again. Points already spent aren’t given back.
Delete your account
In Settings, deleting your account is immediate and permanent. In the same operation we delete your profile and everything in it (employment, projects, skills, achievements, education, certifications, facts, and evidence), your uploaded files and exported documents from file storage, your resumes and every version, jobs, applications, cover letters, interview preparation, and your points and invite codes. Your customer record at Stripe, if you bought points, is deleted too. If a stored file or the Stripe record can’t be removed, the failure is logged so we can remove it.
Some records remain without the link to you: AI usage records (the type of task, its cost, and token counts, for accounting), security log entries, and any product analytics events. None contains the content of your profile or documents. Stripe keeps payment records as the law requires of it.
Backups
Deleted information can remain in backups of the database and of stored files for up to [number of] days, until they expire. Backups are used only to recover from failures.
What we can’t delete
Files you’ve downloaded to your own devices, and documents you’ve sent to employers or anyone else, are outside ResumePay. Delete them, or ask the recipients to, yourself.
